Tennessee commit lands U of L offer

The University of Louisville offered 2019 Tennessee commitment Kendrell Scurry after a visit on Saturday.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Scurry is from Thompson Station, Tenn., Independence High School and has been committed to the Volunteers since late July. He spent time on U of L's campus on Saturday and watched the Cardinals scrimmage.

Scurry helped Independence to a runner-up finish in the TSSAA Class 5-A state playoffs, losing to Farragut. It was the only loss in two years of Scurry playing on the varsity level for Independence.

As a sophomore, Scurry had 58 catches for 977 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Conner OL takes in Louisville practice

Conner High School offensive guard Peyton Knippenberg stopped by Louisville's practice on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Knippenberg watched the Cardinals practice in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium and said he spent time with the recruiting staff, including new hire Stephen Field.

"I really enjoyed the visit and I am really stoked that they got to see my film and told me how excited they are about it," Knippenberg said.

While he said his recruiting "got off to a bit of a late start," Knippenberg said it's beginning to pick up. He has offers from Eastern Kentucky, Murray State, Morehead State and Tennessee Tech and others showing interest are Memphis, Kentucky, Purdue, Ohio, Toledo, Central Michigan, Western Kentucky and Cincinnati.

"I'm hoping some of these schools pull the trigger," he said.

Male WR makes U of L visit

Male High School wide receiver Ethan Bibb made a visit to campus last week and watched U of L's practice.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Bibb will be one of the top wide receivers in the Louisville-area next fall and recently picked up his first scholarship offer from Murray State University.

Bibb has also been to several other places, including Purdue and Toledo.

"It's was nice," Bibb said of U of L. "It was better than all the other visits."

Bibb said he'll return to campus soon and he's likely to camp this summer. As a junior. Bibb had 34 catches for 571 yards and 11 TDs.

'19 corner makes trip to U of L

Springfield, Tenn., 2019 cornerback Dayron Johnson was at U of L for a game last fall and made the return trip with several friends last weekend. He was at the scrimmage on Saturday.

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Johnson said the visit was "wonderful."

"I had a great time and got to watch the scrimmage," he said. "The players were cool and I spent a little time with coach (Peter) Sirmon. He is really cool and really gets to know the recruits.

"I like what they are doing to the field. It's a really nice atmosphere."

Johnson said he "really loves Louisville and the atmosphere when I was there for the N.C. State game was crazy." He said Tennessee, South Carolina, LSU, Oregon and Cincinnati are other schools that are showing interest.

Cards offer athlete from Texas

Alex Morris is a safety/wide receiver from Humble, Tx., Atascocita High School and has landed an offer from Louisville.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Morris has also landed an offer from Indiana. He had 13 catches for 179 yards and two TDs on offense.
