Fort Lauderdale, Fla., linebacker Rocky Shelton recaps a trip to the University of Louisville last weekend to watch the spring game.

The University of Louisville football program has had good luck recruiting in the Sunshine State.

The Cardinals are hoping to add a few for the Class of 2018 and are off to a good start with a top linebacker prospect from Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

St. Thomas Aquinas three-star linebacker Darrell Shelton - who also goes by Rocky - was an early offer for the Cardinals and last weekend he was on campus to check out the Cardinals' Spring Game.

"I loved it," Shelton said. "The game was very exciting and I loved the program.

"The coaches seem to have an exclusive love for their players and that really stands out to me."

Shelton has over two dozen scholarship offers and said right now "a lot of schools are involved." Among his offers are Duke, Iowa, North Carolina, Auburn, Kentucky, Michigan State, Maryland, LSU, Wisconsin and West Virginia.

The 6-foot, 210-pound Shelton is ranked as the No. 35 outside linebacker in the '18 class.
