The University of Louisville football staff has been strong in the state of Georgia in recent recruiting classes. The staff inked seven in the Class of 2017 from the state of Georgia, including wide receiver Corey Reed from Roswell, Ga., High School.
Now, the Cardinals are trying to land another star from Roswell.
Three-star tight end Tyneil Hopper was on campus last weekend for the spring game and is a major target for the U of L staff. He was joined by his cousins - and teammates - '18 quarterback Cordel Littlejohn and '19 athlete Jamal Littlejohn.
"It was a great experience," Hopper said. "I visited with my cousins and we had a great time.
Hopper was a visitor to the U of L campus last season for a game and said he knows head coach Bobby Petrino likes to use the tight end in his offense and that it would fit his style.
"They are fun to watch," Hopper said. "I have 14 offers right now. I like Louisville a lot."
Hopper's offers include Auburn, Alabama, Illinois, South Carolina and Kentucky.
His cousin, Cordel Littlejohn, has been offered by Illinois and is also hearing from South Carolina, Vanderbilt and others.
