Kentfield, Calif., quarterback Spencer Petras said he's been offered a scholarship by the University of Louisville.

Kentfield, Calif., Marin Catholic quarterback Spencer Petras has landed his ninth scholarship offer.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound prospect in the Class of 2018 said the latest is "a big one." Petras was offered on Friday night by the University of Louisville, landing the word from quarterbacks coach Nick Petrino.

"I'm extremely fired up about the offer," Petras told Cardinal Authority. "I love Louisville.

"I know they produce great quarterbacks at Louisville and I have heard great things about coach (Bobby) Petrino and his staff."

Petras also has offers from Syracuse, Fresno State, UNLV, Wyoming, Nevada, San Jose State, Hawaii and Cornell, while other schools like Nebraska are among others showing interest.

Petras threw for 3,036 yards and 33 touchdowns as a junior and led his team to an 11-3 record. He also rushed for 310 yards and seven TDs and was named first-team All-League.
