University of Louisville women's basketball coach Jeff Walz and his staff were on the road recruiting all weekend.
The U of L staff hit the road on Friday and were spotted watching at least five tournaments over the weekend, including Walz watching several of the program top targets at the Elite is Earned Spring Invitational in Walnut Creek, Calif.
The Cardinals have two commitments - Seygan Robins and Mykasa Robinson - already in the Class of 2018 and are expected to sign at least two more players in the '18 class.
Here's a look at a few places the staff was recruiting:
Walz on the West Coast
Louisville has had luck on the West Coast in the past and Walz back back in California watching several prospects, including 2019 commitment Nyah Green, who is ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the nation by Prospects Nation and ESPN.
Walz also evaluated two of the top '18 targets on the board.
Aquira DeCosta is a 6-foot-2 wing from Stockton, Calif., who narrowed her list to five on Sunday night. The Cardinals were on the list along with South Carolina, Baylor, Tennessee and California. She's the No. 6 prospect in the nation by both sets of rankings.
The other was NaLyssa Smith, a 6-3 forward from East Central, Tx., who is ranked No. 4 in both rankings.
Norman spends time in Columbus
Associate head coach Stephanie Norman did some recruiting in Indianapolis but spent a portion of the weekend in Columbus, Ohio.
Among the prospects she watched in Columbus was '18 center Naz Hillmon. The 6-foot-2 Hillmon is from Gates Mills, Ohio, and was named the Cleveland.com Player of the Year last season.
Rock Island, Ill., wing Breanna Beal is ranked No. 4 by ESPN and was also in the event and is a top U of L target, along with Toledo, Ohio, '19 guard Zia Cooke and Danville, Ill., '19 point guard Anya Peoples.
Williams in a couple of places
U of L assistant coach Samantha Williams spent time in Dallas and also in Atlanta.
One of the elite '18 prospects on the board for the Cardinals was at the event in Atlanta - Victoria Saxton. The 6-foot-1 forward from Rome, Ga., is ranked No. 22 by ProspectsNation.com.
Forney, Tx., center Taylor Jones, the No. 10 prospect in the '19 class, was in the event in Dallas along with some other top youngsters.
Purcell spends time in North Carolina
Assistant coach Sam Purcell spent time during the weekend at an event that was loaded with prospects in North Carolina.
Among the prospects Purcell watched was the No. 1 player in the ESPN '19 rankings - Samantha Brunelle. She's a 6-foot-2 forward from Ruckersville, Va., and ranks No. 4 in Prospects Nation.
Many of the other targets evaluated here were '18 players, including top 15 wing Elizabeth Balogun. Others include Buford, Ga., point guard Tory Ozment, Jonesboro, Ga., guard Morgan Jones and Lake Travis, Tx., center Queen Egbo.
Upcoming for the staff
Most of the top targets on the U of L board will be at the Boo Williams event next weekend in Hampton, Va.
The NCAA allows for coaches to be on the road for two weekends in the spring.
