Louisville sophomore Donovan Mitchell will sign with an agent; remain in the NBA Draft and forego his eligibility with the Cardinals.

University of Louisville sophomore guard Donovan Mitchell will stay in the NBA Draft.

Mitchell confirmed to Scout.com that he will hire an agent and forego the final two years of his eligibility with the Cardinals.

Mitchell, who told Scout.com last month that he was going to test the NBA waters, will participate in the May 9-14 combine in Chicago and is expected to be a first-round pick in next months NBA Draft.

The 6-foot-3 guard is currently projected to go No. 20 in the 2017 NBA Draft by Draft Express.

"Thank you Card Nation, I will always love you guys," Mitchell tweeted.

Mitchell raised his profile during his sophomore season and helped Louisville to a 25-9 record, before falling to Michigan in the second round. Mitchell averaged 15.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists a game for the Cardinals.
