Fort Scott (Kan.) College running back Harry Trotter, who made the trip to Louisville for the program's spring game in April, announced his commitment to the Cardinals program on Monday.
"It feels amazing," he told Cardinal Authority shortly after making his decision public. "I can't wait to get out to the Ville and get to work."
The 5-foot-11, 205-pound running back will join the Cardinals roster as an invited walk-on and is eligible to play this fall.
Rated among the top 50 JUCO prospect, Trotter is a product of Maur Hill in Atchison, Kan., where he rushed for 1,656 yards and 20 touchdowns on 157 carries as a senior. Last fall, as a freshman at Fort Scott he 502 yards and eight touchdowns in six games.
Trotter, who also drew interest from Drake, Kansas and others, said that he "loved" his visit with Louisville and described the facilities as "top notch."
Due to multiple injuries in the Cardinals backfield, Trotter will have the opportunity to compete right away.
"They said that they've had the injury bug at running back this spring, so maybe that will open an opportunity for a JUCO RB," he said. "They looked kind of thin at RB and I think I could be the perfect fit to come in this fall for them already having college football experience."
