Tifton, Ga., outside linebacker Andrew Johnson, who is projected by most as a rush end on the college level, has quickly become one of the more highly-sought after prospects at the position. This week he added a scholarship offer from Louisville to go along with a list made up of programs from across the ACC, SEC, Big 12, Pac 12 and elsewhere.
"It's going great," he said of the recruiting process.
On Monday, Louisville assistant Mike Summers reached out to the 6-foot-4, 235-pound athlete to extend the Cardinals offer.
"It was great," he said of his latest offer. "(He said) that I can really get out and run."
Last fall, he recorded 46 tackles, including 11 for a loss and five sacks.
In addition to his new U of L offer, Johnson also holds the same from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia Tech, NC State, Oregon, West Virginia and others. He anticipates visiting as many as he can during the coming months to "learn new things" and discover what each program offers.
A trip to Louisville is on his eventual schedule, but the dates are still to be determined.
"I just don't know when," he said.
With interest continuing to rise, Johnson is claiming no favorites and expects to make his college choice following his senior season.
