The University of Louisville football staff has a need to add defensive linemen for the Class of 2018.
And once again on Sunday, the staff has addressed that position.
Louisville has landed a huge commitment from big-time junior-college defensive tackle Antar Thompson, who at one time was committed to Missouri and has a current offer from Alabama.
The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Thompson made an official visit to U of L this weekend.
"Louisville has been one of my top school," Thompson said. "That feels like home. There's really no competition."
Thompson has been recruited by U of L defensive line coach L.D. Scott and said he's built a "great relationship" with Scott.
"L.D. Scott is a cool guy," Thompson said. "He's a great coach and he respects and treats me and my family well."
Thompson has other offers from Alabama, Kentucky, Colorado, Kansas State, Mississippi, South Carolina
As a redshirt freshman last season, Thompson posted 32 tackles, three sacks and two tackles-for-loss while working into the Scotties' defensive line rotation. He said the plan is to graduate in December and enroll at U of L in January.
