On Thursday morning, the University of Louisville was the first school to call 5-star 2019 center Armando Bacot just after midnight when the rising juniors were able to get calls from college coaches.
Bacot said U of L assistant coach Kenny Johnson told him he was going to be a priority for the Cardinals.
The 6-foot-9, 225-pound Bacot also chatted with U of L head coach Rick Pitino and now on Saturday morning was offered a scholarship by the Cardinals' staff. He's participating in the NBPA Top 100 camp in Charlottesville, Va.
Bacot told Scout.com earlier this week that he models his game Jahlil Okafor and DeMarcus Cousins because “they are both back to the basket, old school bigs, but also versatile.”
On the recruiting front, Bacot mentioned U of L and Duke as schools that called early and also mentioned North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Kansas, Florida State, Florida, Virginia Commonwealth and Villanova.
Bacot said a visit to Louisville "is coming soon," but nothing has been set up just yet.
