Pitino, who has now met with Palacios twice, once last April and again last week, to lay out his recruiting pitch to the Jamal Mashburn play-a-like. Pitino has heavily pursued the talented power forward since at least last fall, catching Palacios in action in Delaware and Dayton last season.
"He had a very nice visit with the coaches," Stelzer said. "He [Palacios] visited for about an hour with Coach Pitino and Coach Willard. There is nothing wrong about what they presented to him. They were very impressive."
Stelzer indicated that the 6'8 forward from Columbia won't rush a decision and wants to check into all options before making his decision.
"He's not going to make a decision right away," Stelzer said. "He wants to hear from everybody first before he decides."
Last week, Palacios heard from Louisville, Baylor, Pittsburgh and UCLA. This week, Florida and Florida State come in and Tennessee, Valpariso and Texas are also involved. Palacios has scheduled one official visit, to Florida, at this point.
"I'm waiting for the visits to end and then I'll decide which ones I'm going to visit and then I'll see what happens," Palacios told TheInsiders.com late last week.
"The coaches are the important thing and the people you're going to be around," Palacios said. "You're looking for a place where you're the important part of the time and you'll get exposure for the NBA."
