ITV has been busy for the past few days uncovering as many prospects as we can. Through our calls we have learned that most, if not all, of this weekend's scheduled visits are unofficials, meaning that the players are responsible for their own transportation and meals while on campus. We also have noticed that the initial group of visitors will be primarily from the Bluegrass State.
Here is a list of those players that have confirmed with ITV that they will be at the game on Saturday.
QB Brian Brohm (6'4, 200) – Louisville Trinity High School
The highly sought after quarterback from Louisville Trinity will be among the group of visitors, but unlike the others, he probably has a better understanding of what Louisville has to offer than anyone else among the list.
"I'll be there," Brohm told ITV. "I doubt I'll see anything that I haven't seen already though…I've been to a lot of games there. This is an unofficial visit, but I'll probably take an official [visit] later in the year."
LB Maurice Mitchell (6'3, 230) Glasgow (KY) High School
Mitchell became the first commitment for the 2004 recruiting class when he informed U of L assistant coach Greg Nord that he would accept the extended scholarship offer in May.
"I've never been up there for a game," explained Mitchell. "I just want to see how it feels to see what it's like in the stadium when it is full of fans and I'm standing on the sidelines."
DB/RB Cord Stockton (5'11, 170) Glasgow (KY) High School
Stockton, a fellow teammate of Cardinal commit Maurice Mitchell, will be making the short drive as well. Stockton, who has already collected offers from Morehead State and Murray State, as well as frequent mailings from Middle Tennessee State, dreams of playing for the Cardinals.
"I'm a big time Louisville fan," explained Stockton. "My whole family is. It would be a dream to play for U of L."
An impressive athlete, who also plays on the offensive side of the ball at multiple positions and has accounted for more than 200 all-purpose yards twice so far in his senior season, is receiving attention from Louisville, Kentucky and Cincinnati.
"To be honest, I'd love to play at either Louisville or Kentucky," said Gathof.
RB/DB Ian Hoskins (6'2, 185) Campbellsville (KY) High School
A possible sleeper prospect, Hoskins' senior season is off to a great start. He has already rushed for more than 300 yards and has 9 touchdowns on the season. He is also is team's third leading tackler.
"My whole family are big U of L fans," said Hoskins, who added that Campbellsville is 'thick' with Cardinal fans. "I'm open right now, but my first choice is Louisville."
Mario Urrutia (ITV)
Urrutia is one of the top prospects in the Bluegrass State and is receiving quite a bit of attention from programs throughout the region. He is scheduled to make the visit, but is still uncertain if he can make it due to be scheduled to work. Urrutia has 31 receptions for 511 yards, which ranks him fourth in the state in receiving yards per game.
"I'm not sure if I'll make it yet or not," Urrutia explained. "I'm scheduled to work, but I'm trying to change it so I can make it. I'll probably take an [official visit] to Louisville later in the year too."
Two others that ITV anticipates will also be making unofficial visits to Louisville this weekend:
Sept. 20 Update
During our attendance at the St. X - Male game on Friday night we learned that the following players would likely be visiting Louisville on Saturday.
LB Dan Bick (6'0, 195) Louisville St. X
WR/DB Steve McKinney (6'2, 190) Louisville Male
DE Nick Redmond (6'5, 245) Louisville St. X
ITV will update this list should we confirm any other scheduled visits.
