Brian Johnson Down to Two, Has Leader

A day after returning from his official visit to Louisville, 6'9 Brian Johnson has narrowed his list to two schools and has a leader for his commitment.

Oak Hill Academy (Va.) senior forward Brian Johnson returned from a trip to Louisville this past weekend and Rick Pitino's program is in the lead for the former Bishop O'Connell star.

Johnson's uncle, Ronnie Ingram, confirmed that Johnson will only take one more visit - to Georgia Tech in two weeks. He'll make his decision soon after coming back from Tech.

``That's the only other visit he'll take," Ingram said. "He's basically down to Louisville and Georgia Tech with Notre Dame a distant third."

Apparently in a desperate attempt to stay in contention for Johnson, Notre Dame Head Coach Mike Brey made a visit to see the 6'9 prospects Monday afternoon at Oak Hill Academy.

On Inside TheVille's radio program Monday evening, Oak Hill Head Coach Steve Smith essentially confirmed Ingram's comments that the Cards enjoyed an advantage and a lead for Johnson's services.

Smith indicated that Johnson had cancelled his scheduled visits to both Cincinnati and Arizona because the 6'9 forward was tiring of the recruiting process.

Sebastian Telfair's looming announcement to play for the Cards also appears to be an important factor in Johnson's decision.

Smith also told ITV that Johnson enjoyed his visit to Louisville over the weekend and felt comfortable with both the players and coaches at U of L

Smith said he expected Johnson to announce his college choice around the middle of October, shortly after returning from his trip to Georgia Tech.
