Kerry Rhodes named Player of the Week

Louisville safety Kerry Rhodes has been named Conference USA Co-Defensive Player of the Week.

Louisville, Ky. - Junior safety Kerry Rhodes of the University of Louisville football team was named co-defensive player of the week in Conference USA, the league announced on Monday.

Rhodes shared the award with Will Hyden of Memphis, who intercepted a pass and returned it 36 yards for a touchdown in the Tigers win at Houston. He finished the game with 11 tackles, including eight solo stops.

Rhodes had two interceptions in Louisville's 47-28 win over Tulane last Friday. He returned an interception 33 yards for a touchdown and also added six tackles.

The junior from Bessemer, Ala., is the second Cardinal to garner such accolades this season, joining Robert McCune as the other.

The Cardinals (6-1, 2-1 C-USA) will face ECU on Saturday, October 25 , at 2:00 p.m. The game will be televised live on WDRB-TV 41.
