Mario Urrutia scheduling official visits

Louisville Fern Creek receiver Mario Urrutia spoke with Inside theVille on Tuesday evening and provided us with an update on his recruiting and where he plans on taking official visits.

Mario Urrutia, one of the top prospects in the Bluegrass this year, is having another great season at Fern Creek High School. Through seven games, the 6'6, 210-pound receiver is among the state's leaders in receptions (49), receiving yards (851) and receiving touchdowns (13).

When ITV last spoke with Mario in early October, he informed us that he was planning on making an unofficial visit to Louisville for one of the upcoming home games.

"It went pretty good," said Urrutia of his visit for the Louisville game against Army. "They threw the heck out of the ball that game...over 400 yards passing. I got to talk with Coach Nord and Coach [Bobby] Petrino."

With offers from Louisville, Virginia, Nebraska and Kentucky on the table, Mario has started planning his official visits.

"I'm going to Virginia on November 28th," said Urrutia, a South Hot 100 member. "On the first weekend of December I am going to Louisville and then on the second weekend [of December] I'm going to Kentucky."

When asked what he likes in the Louisville program, he quickly replied, "they throw the ball a lot and that's the main thing I'm looking for."

For those that are hoping for an early commitment from Urrutia don't expect it to happen.

"I want to take all my official visits first and take it from there," Urrutia explained.

Urrutia's Fern Creek Tigers will face Trinity and Brian Brohm on Friday.
