Louisville among favorites for 6'6 lineman

6'6, 270-pound offensive lineman Drew Davis of Sparta High School in Alabama lists the Cardinals in his current top five.

When your an offensive lineman that stands 6'6 and has a 270-pound frame, you can expect numerous Division I programs to come knocking on your door. Such is the case with Drew Davis of Sparta High School in Evergreen, Alabama.

While a number of college programs are expressing an interest in Davis, there are five that currently top his list.

"My top five right now are Louisville, Mississippi State, Alabama, Middle Tennessee and Auburn," Davis stated.

Of his top five, Louisville, Mississippi State and Middle Tennessee State have all extended scholarship offers.

Davis, who told ITV that he is being recruited by Louisville assistant Joe Whitt Jr., hasn't set a time table as to when he'd like to make a decision on where to enroll in college.

While Davis, who has made unofficial visits to Alabama, Auburn and Troy State, has yet to visit the Louisville campus, he has been impressed by the Cardinals play.

"They are playing pretty good ball right now," said Davis, who also stated that he likes Coach Bobby Petrino's style of offense.

Louisville's expected membership in the Big East Conference is another factor that could play a part in his decision.

"That would definately spike my interest in Louisville even more," explained Davis of the Cardinals potential membership in the BCS league.

While he has yet to schedule any official visits, Davis did say that he will probably make one of five visits to Louisville.
