Cards lead for 6'4 defensive end

6'4, 210-pound defensive end Anthony Douglass of Eufaula, Alabama recently spoke with ITV about his recruiting and how the Cardinals stack up.

Anthony Douglass, who measures 6'4, 210-pounds and has a 40-speed of 4.5, may draw comparisons to Cardinal linebacker Brandon Johnson from U of L fans. Much like Johnson, Douglass utilizes his size and speed to create havoc for opposing linemen. Through nine games, the senior from Eufaula, Alabama, leads his team in sacks (10), fumble recoveries (4) and block kicks (4). He's also his teams second leading tackler with 63.

As expected, someone with his size and speed is drawing considerable attention from programs around the region.

"I'm hearing from Louisville, Southern Miss, Auburn, Troy State, Ole Miss and Alabama," said Douglass, who has collected offers from the Cardinals and Troy State.

He recently took an unofficial visit to Troy State and is in the process of scheduling an official visit to Louisville.

"I talked to Coach Whitt about coming up there in either December or January," explained Douglass. He continued to explain that during his discussion with the Louisville assistant, that he was told that he would have an opportunity to see plenty of action as a freshman.

That forthcoming visit won't be his first look at the Louisville campus. Prior to the start of school, Douglass stopped by Papa John's Cardinal Stadium while on his way to visit family in the Cincinnati area.

"It was real nice," said Douglass. "We didn't get to see all the facilities, but we just wanted to stop by and see the stadium and it was better than I expected."

So how does Louisville stack up against the other programs that Douglass is considering?

"Right now my favorite is Louisville," Douglass explained. "I don't know if I want to go somewhere close to home or somewhere away from home yet. I hope to figure that out on my official visits."
