Telfair hasn't signed LOI, yet

Sebastian Telfair hasn't signed his national letter of intent, yet. Otis Telfair provides ITV with the latest.

The crown jewel of Coach Pitino's 2004 recruiting class hasn't made it official to attend the University of Louisville next fall, yet.

Telfair, who committed to Louisville last month, will lead Lincoln High School this season as they defend their New York State Federation Title this season.

His father, Otis Telfair, told ITV Friday afternoon that the Letter of Intent was sitting on the table in front of him and is filled out.

"He's going to sign," Otis Telfair said but didn't indicate when that would be when asked if whether he'd sign during the early period. The November signing period ends next Wednesday.

"We're going to talk about it when he gets home and see if he wants to get this behind him," Telfair said.

Four other Louisville commitments have either signed binding letters of intent with U of L or will before next Wednesday. 6'7 Donta Smith of Southeastern Illinois C.C., 6'9 Brian Johnson of Oak Hill (VA) Academy, 6'10 Terrance Farley of Pleasure Ridge Park and 6'5 Lorenzo Wade of Hargrave Military Academy, along with Telfair, comprise what many analysts consider one of the top three recruiting classes in the nation.
