Neptune's Coach Reynolds comments on Burns

Neptune High School's Coach Reynolds comments on Lousiville football's second announced commit, 6'4 LB Johnnie Burns.

According to Johnnie Burns high school coach, Louisville picked up a big time player, a good student, and an excellent person all in one.

Burns, who also plays basketball, was a four year starter for Neptune and helped Coach Reynolds squad reach the state playoffs each season.

"Louisville got them a great player," Reynolds said.

As a senior, Burns had outstanding statical numbers from his linebacker position, and helped Neptune to the best season in school history. Neptune, which just ended its season Friday night with a loss in the regional finals, finsihed 12-2 overall.

Reynolds said Burns is a fantastic athlete with great size.

"He's rangy, athletic with great speed," Reynolds said. "He's about 6'4 [but] his number one attribute is how well he runs. He's a great drop guy that covers well against the pass. He's a super kid."

Burns sports a 3.1 GPA in the classroom and should have no problems qualifying academically. He hasn't taken his ACT/SAT test yet, but Reynold's indicated that he performed well on the PSAT.
