Clarence Holloway commits to Louisville

Inside theVille has confirmed that 7'0, 270-pound junior center Clarence Holloway has committed to the University of Louisville.

Inside theVille has confirmded with recruiting analyst Dave Telep that 7'0, 270-pound Clarence Holloway of Chicago Harlan High School has verbally committed to the University of Louisville and Rick Pitino.

Holloway, who Inside theVille first introduced to Cardinal fans when he attended Rick Pitino's basketball camp this past June, is an imposing low post presence, with good post moves, soft hands and excellent passing ability.

At 7'0, 270 pounds, Holloway has enourmous potential but must become better conditioned and stronger to reach his full potential.

Harlan Coach Dennis Holmes told ITV on November 3 that Holloway was improving in those two important respects.

"His grades are good," Holmes said of Holloway. "And he's doing great with conditioning and is looking strong."

Holloway attended the adidas ABCD Camp in Teaneck, NJ in July, where he was named to the underclass All-Star game. Holloway, a consensus Top 50 recruit in the junior class, is the first member of Louisville's 2005 recruiting class.

ITV anticipates that the Cardinals will sign two additional players from the junior class.

Additionally, Holloway recently received a favorable ruling by the IHSAA following a transfer from Fenger to Harlan this fall and is eligble to play this season at Harlan where he is in action tonight.

Holloway chose the Cards over Illinois, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Purdue.

ITV expects to speak with Holloway following his game tonight via telephone and will have exclusive comments from Illinois' top junior center prospect.
