Louisville Southern's Waller commits to Cardinals

Josh Waller of Louisville Southern is the latest to commit to the University of Louisville football program.

6'4, 280-pound Josh Waller of Louisville Southern High School has committed to play for the University of Louisville football program. He becomes the eighth player to announce for Louisville for the 2004 recruiting class.

Waller, who has only played two seasons of high school football, chose the Cardinals over offers from Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky.

"I'm real proud of him," said his mother Lisa Waller. "He's real excited about it. I can't wait to see him play for Louisville on t.v."

Waller, who anticipates redshirting his freshman season at U of L, is awaiting the results from his recent SAT before becoming fully qualified.

"He was real close the last time he took it," continued Ms. Waller. "He probably got it when he took the SAT last time, but the score isn't back yet."

He is scheduled to make his official visit to Louisville the weekend of January 16th.
