Marques Johnson Update

Blessed IJN head coach Eric Vaughn, who accompanied sophomore <b>Marques Johnson</b> on his recent unofficial visit to Louisville, provided a current list for the 6'5 standout. Also included is an update on 6'9 <b>Carl Swanagan</b>.

Marques Johnson, one of the top sophomores in the nation, told Inside The Ville a few weeks back that he enjoyed his visit to Louisville and the Cardinals figured prominently in his thinking about colleges.

Blessed IJN head coach Eric Vaughn, who accompanied Johnson on his unofficial visit for the Cardinals game against Florida in December, provided us with a current list for the standout guard from Fort Wayne.

Vaughn listed a host of heavy weights, including Michigan, Arizona, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, and UCLA in addition to Louisville.

Of the trip, Vaughn said the pair were definitely impressed by their surroundings on their trip to Louisville.

Vaughn said the most important factors for Johnson in his decision making process would be playing time availability as a freshman, the coaching staff, and style of play.

Vaughn indicated that Johnson, an accomplished shooter and scorer from the wing, would again play for Blessed IJN this summer and would focus on running the point, getting into the lane and distributing the ball to his open teammates.


6'9 Carl Swanagan (ITV)

Vaughn, who also coached 6'9 junior Carl Swanagan before the 300 plus pound center returned to Utah to live with his uncle, said the giant of a big man would also being playing for his AAU team this summer. Vaughn also said Louisville remained the leader for Swanagan's services.

Swanagan will attend a prep school next year.
