Mario Urrutia enjoyed visit

Mario Urrutia of Louisville Fern Creek was among the many visitors this weekend. ITV spoke with him moments ago about his visit.

6'6, 210-pound wide receiver Mario Urrutia has now visited both Louisville and Kentucky without making a commitment, but the 1st Team All-State selection left the Belknap Campus impressed.

"It was real nice," Urrutia explained. "J.R. Russell was my host. That was the first time that I had met him."

Urrutia, who at one point gave Kentucky a verbal commitment, hasn't hinted as to his leader might be at this point.

"I can't really say who my favorite is right now," said Urrutia, who has also drawn interest from Michigan, Nebraska and Indiana. "I'm going to take one more visit to Indiana (1/16)."

As a senior at Fern Creek High School, he finished second in the state in receiving yards per game with an average of 129.2 per contest. On the season he had 62 catches for 1,163 yards and 16 touchdowns.

With a commitment by Brian Brohm to Louisville still a possibility, one might think that a receiver with his ability might consider following the talented quarterback.

"It won't really," Urrutia replied when asked if he'd commit to Louisville if Brohm made the decision to become a Cardinal.

While Urrutia isn't fully qualified, he is expected be shortly.

"I'm taking the test one more time. I missed it last time by one point."
