Cards lead for talented Florida WR

Louisville leads for the services of a talented wide receiver prospect from Tallahassee, Florida who visited U of L over the weekend. And a committment might be forthcoming very soon.

Ellis Gaulden made an official visit to the University of Louisville over the weekend and had a great time while in town.

Gaulden, a 6'5, 205 pound wide receiver from Godby High School in Tallahassee, Florida, told's Scott Kennedy Sunday evening that Louisville is his leader.

"I had a great time at Louisville," said Gaulden. "When the coaches were talking with me, they talked about what kind of offense they run. They showed me the depth chart of where I would fit in."

Gaulden's teammate, 5'8 wide receiver Del Roberts, was also being recruited by Louisville and told Inside The Ville last week that the Cards and the North Carolina Tar Heels were "neck and neck" for his services. However, Roberts committed to UNC during his visit last weekend.

As for Gaulden, he'll receive an in-home visit from the Louisville coaching staff Monday night, and an end to his recruitment might be coming soon.

"I like the city of Louisville a lot," Gaulden said. "They have a lot of places to go. The coaches from Louisville will be in home tomorrow night. I'm scheduled to visit Iowa State next weekend and Connecticut on the 23rd. Louisville is my leader right now."

With Gaulden's leaders in home tomorrow night, this one may be over before he has a chance to take his other visits.
