Cards, Georgia Tech battle for top FL RB

George Stripling (6'1,190, 4.4), one of the top rushers in the state of Florida last season (2,100 yards, 26 TD), has narrowed his list to two schools and will visit the University of Louisville this weekend.

Running back George Stripling, a 2nd Team Class 3A All-State selection, has one visit down, with two to go.

"I went to Central Florida this past weekend," Stripling said. "It was great...I enjoyed it. I'm going to Louisville this weekend and then Georgia Tech on the 29th."

Stripling was also scheduled to visit East Carolina, but he told ITV that he has cancelled the trip to Greenville, North Carolina.

As he told ITV prior to the holidays, Stripling still considers it a two team race.

"Right now I'd say that it's either Louisville or Georgia Tech," explained the 6'1, 185-pound back. "I want to see what each of them is like before deciding."

He continued to explain that he likes the opportunity of playing early at Louisville, but he doesn't anticipate making a decision prior to visiting Georgia Tech.

"I want to take my visits first, so I know what each place is like. I'll probably make my decision before signing day though."

Considered by most scouts as one of the top backs in the Sunshine State this year, Stripling, who is clocked with 4.4 speed, rushed for over 2,100 yards and 26 touchdowns as a senior.
