OL Phillip Moody commits to U of L

After signing a number of athletes from the Tallahassee area last winter, the University of Louisville program has secured its first commitment from the Big Bend area in Phillip Moody.

The Cardinal coaching staff returned to familiar territory in Tallahassee, Florida to secure a commitment from offensive lineman Phillip Moody of North Christian High School.

Moody made his official visit to Louisville over the past weekend and told Inside theVille on Sunday that he committed during his time on campus.

"I committed during my visit," said Moody. "It's official and I'm solid...I'm definitely going to Louisville!"

As a number of prospects have mentioned, the highlight of his visit was his experience when touring Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

"On Friday we hung out with the players and on Saturday we toured the school and got to talk to a professor," explained Moody, who was hosted by redshirt freshman Danny Barlowe. "The tour of the stadium was great. We had our jerseys hanging in our lockers and they had us run onto the field, while a highlight tape was playing. They had the smoke going too. It was real cool!"

Moody, who is fully eligible, is already looking forward to making the move to Louisville.

"I'll come up during the spring and watch practice for a weekend. I can't wait to get there and get started. Louisville is a great program and it'll be exciting to go into the Big East."

Moody selected the Cardinals over offers from Tulane and Middle Tennessee, as well as recent heavy interest from Florida and Georgia.
