Brian Brohm has announced to ESPN.com that he has decided to continue the tradition and become a Cardinal!
Certainly ranking among the greatest quarterbacks in Kentucky high school football history like Paul Hornung, Tim Couch, Chris Redman, and Phil Sims, Brohm could become the best of that accomplished group.
And despite opportunities to play at Notre Dame, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, and several other nationally recognized programs, Kentucky's Mr. Football and the 2003 USA Today Offensive Player of the Year will attend the University of Louisville and direct the Cardinals potent offense.
"There are about six or seven QBs this season that have the talent and the production to be ranked at the #1 spot," National recruiting scout Tom Lemming said. "But Brian seems to be the #1 player in the country. When you put everything together--size, arm strength, athletic ability, command and production--you've got to go with Brian."

As a senior, the 6'4, 200-pound right hander threw for 3,500 yards and 32 touchdowns. After starting the season 0-4, Brohm directed the Shamrocks to a fourth straight state championship appearance, defeating rival St. Xavier, 17-14, for the title.
During his high school career, Brohm threw for 10,413 yards, second most in state history, 118 touchdowns with just 14 interceptions. As a junior, Brohm threw for 3,777 yards, 47 TD's, and only 1 INT in 335 pass attempts. He threw for 3,082 yards, 39 touchdowns, and 5 touchdowns as a sophomore.
Possessing a great arm, excellent mobility, and uncanny touch on the deep passes, Brohm appears ready made to become a big time player at Louisville.
"On film he shows big league arm strength, accuracy and awareness in the pocket," Lemming said. "He shows the uncanny ability to side-step the first defender and find an open receiver. He has impressive delivery and the ability to get rid of the ball in a hurry. He takes total command of the game and shows good touch. His timing and accuracy are amazing and he's also very accurate on his deep routes and seems to be able to find an open receiver at will."
