"There were a lot of things about Arkansas that I liked, but when they didn't offer that was all there was to that," Cox said. "So I just came home and called Louisville and committed."
Cox was also considering a visit to Auburn, but the Alanta Douglass High star doesn't have an offer there either and likely won't take a scheduled visit there this weekend.
"I got a good vibe from my visit to Louisville and since Arkansas didn't offer, that made my choice easy," Cox said.
One of the most athletic, passing rushing, defensive linemen in Atlanta, Cox finished his senior season with 86 tackles and 12 sacks and earned All-City honors for a team that finished 8-3 and lost in the first round of the state playoffs. A full-time starter for two seasons that started some his sophomore year, Cox also saw some time at tight end and was used mostly as a blocker, but his future is definitely on the defensive side of the ball.
"My strength is pass rushing," Cox says. "On third downs in pass situations I'm always in the backfield in the quarterback's face bringing him down or at least putting pressure on him. That's what I can bring to a team."
