"As our fan base continues to grow across the state, region and nationally, this agreement with Ticketmaster fits right along with our philosophy of providing outstanding customer service and expanding our outreach," said U of L Director of Athletics Tom Jurich. "With all the buzz around U of L athletics, you will now be able to conveniently obtain your tickets to U of L events directly through Ticketmaster outlets and the Internet. We are proud to expand our relationship with Kroger to enhance the opportunities to access U of L tickets. This new technology keeps us on the cutting edge and we certainly see this as a trend for universities across the country."
The new system will provide added convenience, better communication through the Cardinal Athletic Fund and more outlets to obtain tickets to U of L events. Season ticket holders will have the ability to manage, renew and make payments for their season ticket accounts online.
The added donor software enables the Cardinal Athletic Fund to enhance its customer service for donors and provide more thorough information to donors. It will allow U of L to keep a more complete donor history and dramatically increase communication with Cardinal fans and donors, including enhanced electronic mail capabilities. The installation of this new technology was funded primarily by a gift from the Humana Foundation.
Cardinal fans will have the ability to log on to ticketmaster.com and using Ticketmaster's ticketFast technology, print electronically purchase, download and print their U of L tickets at the click of a mouse. Future initiatives may also expand to include the ability for season ticket holders to maximize their season ticket investment by forwarding tickets they are unable to use to another person electronically.
"Ticketmaster has enjoyed a long relationship with the University of Louisville and we are pleased to be delivering these state-of-the-art technologies to the fans and students of the University of Louisville," said Maria J. Zigmunt, General Manager of Ticketmaster Kentucky. "We believe these latest innovations will surpass the expectations of all fans by allowing them to purchase and print their tickets quickly and easily from their personal computer."
Tickets for U of L events will be available through Ticketmaster this fall. Cardinal fans may purchase tickets by visiting ticketmaster.com online, call (502) 361-3100 or visit any Ticketmaster Ticket Center, including select Louisville area Kroger locations.
