Buchanan: "It's very close"

Bobby Buchanan is torn between Louisville and Illinois but has some encouraging words for U of L head coach Bobby Petrino and Cardinal fans.

Illinois cornerback Bobby Buchanan, the younger brother of former U of L great Ray Buchanan, says he's torn between the home state Fighting Illini and his brother's alma mater.

Buchanan, who verbally committed to Illinois but made an official visit to Louisville last weekend, said the last week has been tough and the decision he's about to make is even more difficult.

"This last week has been hard, nerve-wrecking and just all out stressful," Buchanan said. "I saw Brian [Brohm] committed Tuesday and as much I would like to be apart of Coach Petrino's recruiting class I have to weigh both Louisville and Illinois."

"Both play in great conferences and the competition levels are about the same," Buchanan continued. "But I plan to make my decision sometime next week."

So what will the younger Buchanan decide? Will he remain committed to Illinois or will he join Petrino and help lead the Louisville defense into the BIG EAST conference? Maybe he tipped his hand with which way he's currently leaning.

"It's very close," Buchanan admitted. "Neither is favored over the other, so just hang in there Coach Petrino, fans and of course the Cards."
