6'9 star visits U of L

RECRUITING EXCLUSIVE - While Louisville fell to Marquette, there was some good news as a 6'9 standout made an unofficial visit for the game. Who was this player?

Even though Marquette ended No. 4 Louisville's 16 game winning streak on Saturday, there was some good news for the Cardinals.

6'9 standout Brandon Wright, a sophomore from Brentwood Academy (TN), made an unofficial visit to Louisville for Saturday's game against the Golden Eagles.

Wright, TheInsiders No. 5 ranked sophomore in the nation, was easy to spot before the game as he towered over U of L assistant Reggie Theus and strength coach Wiley Brown heading back toward the U of L locker room.

U of L head coach Rick Pitino made a trip to Nashville on January 13 to see Wright in action against Giles County and 6'6 junior Tyler Smith and apparently that visit has paid off with an early unofficial visit by the 6'9 sophomore.

Wright scored 20 points in the game Pitino saw but has been superb since that effort, scoring 30, 29, and 28 points in his last three outings.

The standout center will have his pick of schools when the time comes as heavy-weights like Duke, North Carolina, and Kansas are already showing heavy interest. His visit to Louisville, despite the loss to Marquette, has to bode well for the Cards standing with Wright.

Stay tuned as we'll have more on Brandon Wright's visit in the coming days.
