QB Davis Manning commits to Louisville

University of Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino has landed a second quarterback to his outstanding 2004 recruiting class.

According to the Huntsville Times, Grissom High School quarterback Davis Manning has committed to the University of Louisville.

A 6'5, 210-pound signal caller, Manning turned down an offer from UAB and decided to wait for a better offer.

Last week, University of Louisville head coach renewed his program's interest in Manning an extended an offer for the Huntsville quarterback to join the Cardinals program.

Manning was given the opportunity to join the U of L program either next fall or in January 2005. Manning chose the latter option and will count as a grey-shirt next season.

Manning becomes the 24th player in Petrino's second recruiting haul.
