Does Louisville lead for Brandon Rush?

A report today indicated that Louisville leads for 6'7 junior forward Brandon Rush. But is that accurate? Mount Zion head coach Tony Fozard clears things up.

Despite reports earlier today to the contrary, Brandon Rush doesn't have a leader in his recruitment.

"I don't think they're the leading school right now," Fozard said of Louisville. "Louisville's a school that has shown the most interest and he's got strong interest in them. But it's not accurate to say they're the leader."

"Definitley with Rick Pitino that would be an ideal fit where he would want to go though."

Forzard said Duke and schools like Oklahoma, Arkansas, Cincinnati and Connecticut have pick up the pace recently in his recruitment.

Louisville and Duke maintain regular contact with me," Fozard said.

Inside The Ville recently saw Rush and Mount Zion at the Prime Time Shootout where they lost their first game of the year to Our Savior New American and Tello Palacios by 32 points. With two games remaining, Mount Zion is 25-1.

Like many top prospects today, the NBA looms large in the Rush's mind and Fozard said they're have been more NBA scouts than college coaches watching his star forward this season.

Because of the NBA possibility, Fozard said Rush likely won't sign during the early signing period and will be patient into next spring with his recruitment.

Rush will likely play for Wallace Prather and the Atlanta Celtics this spring on the AAU circuit.
