Parlow, a 6-foot-1 point guard from Carver High School in New Orleans, helped lead the Comets to the 2003 Louisiana Class 4A state title as a junior. He hit the game winner in the state quarterfinals against Plaquemine last season and earned All-Parish honors for his play.
This season, Parlow is averaging 22 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists. Besides Theus, who was in the Crescent City last week to see Parlow, UAB, New Orleans, Tulane, Miami, USC, and most of the mid-majors in Louisiana have shown interest.
At this point, Parlow's biggest offers have come from the schools in his own backyard, New Orleans and Tulane. Louisville's got several options in the event Sebastian Telfair goes pro, and Parlow appears but one of those possibilities, including the possibility of a transfer.
"He's an outstanding shooter," Carver head coach Brian Simmons said. "He can help a team with his ball handling plus he'll help with his outside shooting."
Carver faces West Jefferson tomorrow in the second round of the playoffs.
