Chris Lofton update

Chris Lofton and Mason County will begin defense of their state title Wednesday afternoon. Lofton's mother spoke with ITV Tuesday night and provided the latest on her son's recruitment.

Chris Lofton is in Lexington tonight preparing to defend Mason County's 2003 state title.

And while the presumptive Mr. Basketball has plenty to keep his mind occupied on the court, he's got just as much going on off of it.

Inside The Ville spoke with Kathy Lofton, Chris' mother, via telephone Tuesday night and she explained that Louisville hasn't put forth an offer to her son.

"No they haven't," Lofton said. "But they continue to show some interest."

She also said that Chris anticipates making a decision in the near future and he's got two visits that he still wants to make.

"He's probably going to decide pretty soon after the Sweet 16," Lofton said. "But he's still probably going to take two visits to Notre Dame and Cincinnati."

For now though, Lofton is intent on repeating the ultimate glory for a high school basketball player and capturing a second Sweet Sixteen title.

"We're excited and looking forward to tomorrow," Lofton said.
