The Cardinals conducted a light practice session on what turned out to be a nice day following their scrimmage on Friday.
Possibly as many as 100 prospects appeared to have attended U of L's Junior Day today. Included among those attending were James McKinney of Central High School, Brandon Logan of Lexington Catholic, Kenny Turner of Trigg County and Michael Schwindel of Hancock County. Players came from throughout Kentucky, as well as Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia. ITV will have more on Junior Day soon.
Domonique Dunbar continues to climb the depth charts, seeing more and more action with the first unit, especially in the nickel formation. Dunbar also sported a cast on Saturday protecting a broken bone in his right hand.
Jason Spitz wore a yellow jersey on Saturday keeping him out of much of the action during practice. Apparently, his helmet to helmet blow with Robert McCune during Friday's scrimmage gave him a stinger in his neck. He could return to regular practice on Tuesday.
Montrell Jones also stayed on the sidelines today, spending the majority of his time in the training room. Jones has turf toe, but will return to action on Tuesday.
