However, before it all ends, the U of L football program will hold it's annual Red-White Spring Game at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. Like last year, this won't be like the Red-White game that your father attended. Held on Friday night for the second consecutive year, the spring game is quickly becoming a solid tradition, with a festival setting. Bands will play before and after the game. Former Cardinal greats will be on hand. The smells of a pig roast and tailgating will fill the air.
It's become a celebration. It's an opportunity to strengthen the Cardinals football fan base and it's working.
"We're very excited about the festivities that we have surrounding this spring game this year," said head coach Bobby Petrino. "Last season we had the largest crowd we ever had her at Louisville, and this season we want to pack the place and start a spring game tradition."
So, pack your tailgating gear and prepare for a day and evening of Cardinal football and festivities.
Just as we did during the 2003 season, Inside the Ville will begin tailgating as soon as the parking lots open. We anticipate setting up between stadium gates two and three. Look for the ITV, InsidetheVille.com, banner. We'll have beverages, complimentary copies of the football recruiting issue of Inside the Ville Magazine, rosters and much more. Come on by and say hello!
