McKinney "Wide Open"

Central High School standout James McKinney says he should no longer be considered a University of Michigan commit and that he's wide-open with his recruitment.

6-foot-3 standout James McKinney told TheInsiders.com via email that he should no longer be considered a University of Michigan commit and that his recruitment is wide-open.

"I am no longer committed to Michigan," McKinney said in his May 23 eemail. "I'm wide open."

McKinney, who has rocketed up recruiting charts in the past month with solid performances at national camps, claims 26 offers at present. In addition to offers from Louisville and Kentucky, the Louisville Central High School standout also claims scholarship offers from USC, Ohio State, Michigan, Oklahoma, Miami, LSU, Nebraska, and Tennessee, among others.

McKinney, a fixture at U of L's spring practices this spring, also says there's a few others that he'd like to entertain for consideration.

"I will like to receive mail from schools like Virginia Tech, Pitt, Penn St, FSU," McKinney said.

McKinney will be in action this weekend at the MSL combine and Inside The Ville will provide exclusive coverage from the region's top Memorial Day weekend event.
