William Lewis Impressive at MSL Combine

Scott County's William Lewis was among the many that attended Saturday's MSL Combine in Cincinnati. ITV caught up with the tall receiver following the action.

William Lewis of Scott County High School, a member of the recently released Tremendous 26 list, participated in Saturday's MSL/TheInsiders.com Combine at Nippert Stadium on the campus of the University of Cincinnati.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound receiver turned in an impressive day. While he didn't beat his previous 40-yard best of 4.59, he did post some of the quicker times of the day in the 40 and20-yard dash, as well as the short and long shuttles.

It was in the one-on-one drills where he stood out and utilized his size. In his first two attempts going against man coverage, Lewis made impressive cuts and easily pulled in the receptions.

Louisville, Marshall Notre Dame, Kansas State, Oregon and Kentucky have expressed an interest in Lewis, who could develop into a tight end on the collegiate level.

As a junior, Lewis pulled in 23 receptions for 325 yards and three touchdowns in a run oriented offense.

"My goal is to break the school record for catches which is 74," Lewis said of his upcoming senior season. "My coach said we are going to throw the ball a little more, so I might be able to do it."

During the spring period, Louisville, Kentucky and Marshall came by his school and he attended a Michigan practice and Louisville's spring game.

"I'm going to go to Kentucky's camp and the one at Male High School," Lewis said of his summer plans.

With no offers yet extended, Lewis, who is the cousin of James McKinney and Brandon Logan, told Inside the Ville that he is currently open.
