Roberson, an athletic prospect with potential, will attend prep school next year, most likely at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
University of Louisville head coach Rick Pitino and assistant Reggie Theus evaluated the native Louisiana in Las Vegas this April and apparently liked enough of what they saw to accept a commitment at this time.
"Lamar Roberson is probably being recruited by Louisville to fill a role," TheInsiders.com's Dave Telep said. "He's probably not going to play major minutes right away or make a major impact as a freshman."
Roberson, who projects as a utility forward at the high-major level, chose Louisville over Arizona State, Mississippi State, Oregon State and Wichita State.
