Devendorf has made his decision and is already in the process of moving to the Virginia area sources told SpartansInsider.com earlier today.
The decision is a surprising one considering Devendorf was the odds-on favorite to be named Mr. Basketball in the state of Michigan.
However, other sources tell SpartansInsider that Devendorf believes that he will have the opportunity to improve his game in preparation, not only for a standout college career, but eventually for a chance at stardom in the NBA.
The move is yet another controversial one by this talented player. Devendorf verbally committed to Michigan State and coach Tom Izzo as a sophomore. However, as word of his talent and ability spread, Devendorf de-committed from Michigan State, still calling them one of his favorites.
Sources today, though, told SpartansInsider that the chances of Devendorf going to MSU now are remote.
"It wasn't that I didn't like Michigan State," said Devendorf, told website MSN.com "I got caught up in the hype a little." "He would have been the leading candidate for Mr. Basketball and he would have been the centerpiece of Michigan State's recruiting class. It's too bad," said the source.
