"I'm excited about coming to Louisville and seeing what the schools all about," McGee said Thursday night. "I scheduled this visit before the other two and I made it my final visit purposely because they're probably the best school on my list and now I'll have something to compare it to."
McGee will be accompanied on the trip to Louisville by his mother and father and will return to his Moreno Valley, California home Sunday night. McGee indicated that he'll likely make his decision soon after.
An offensive scoring machine, McGee said he feels very comfortable about the situation at Louisville, particularly because of his relationship and familiarity with Cardinals assistant coach Reggie Theus.
"My family knew Reggie when they were growing up years ago," McGee, who's older brother Antoine will be a junior guard at the University of Colorado next season, said.
The presumptive favorite for his services, Louisville turned up the heat on McGee when it became apparent earlier this year that Sebastian Telfair was headed to the NBA.
"They really started showing a lot of interest when Sebastian made his decision to go to the NBA," McGee explained. "That's also where LeBron would have gone to school and that really increased my interest in Louisville."
