U of L offers AL CB Jerraud Powers

Decatuer, Alabama corner back Jerraud Powers recently received a scholarship offer from the University of Louisville and the Cardinals will battle a pair of instate, Southeastern Conference powers for his services.

Jerraud Powers is one Alabama's top defensive backs and a member of TheInsiders.com's South Hot 100. Recently, Powers picked up a new offer; how does that affect his favorites?

"I have a new offer from Louisville. I received the offer about two weeks ago," said Powers. "I am honored by every offer I get. I will definitely take a visit up there. I will visit anywhere that offers me."

Even with the new offer in hand and more expected, look for the final signature of Powers to come down to a tough in-state battle.

"It's really between those two schools ( Alabama and Auburn). I don't have a favorite out of those. I really like both of them. Both schools have great traditions. They play in the SEC and I love the atmosphere in both places."

Powers attended Alabama's Senior Camp and enjoyed his time on campus.

"I really liked it a lot. It was very competitive. I liked going up against some good competition. I really like Coach Ball. Coach Shula is the quite type, but he is very cool though."

Powers plays point guard for Decatur High School and has returned from a team camp at Birmingham Southern.

"It went really good. We did better than expected," Powers added.

Powers is about "camped out", but he still might find time to go to one more camp this summer.

"I have also been to Ole Miss, Auburn and Memphis. I might go to Southern Miss on July 17th, with my teammate Steve Shackleford. If I go, that will be the last camp I would go to."
