Heyman narrows list to five

Louisville Ballard standout Earl Heyman has narrowed his list to five schools and is hoping to take a visit next week to one of his favorites.

Louisville Ballard High's Earl Heyman, who begins summer football practice today, has picked up several offers this summer.

"I've gotten offers from Kentucky, Boston College, Miami (OH), Eastern Kentucky, Akron, Purdue, Michigan State, and Louisville," said Heyman. "I haven't been to any camps this summer, but my top five is Kentucky, Louisville, Notre Dame, Purdue, and Nebraska. I visited Kentucky and Purdue unofficially in June, and I am hoping to go to Notre Dame next week."

What has caught the eye with Heyman on each of his favorites?

Kentucky "I like Coach Phillips and Coach Gray a lot. I feel like I can talk to them at any time."

Louisville "It's close to home, and I would have a lot of family backing."

Notre Dame "It is an excellent school for academics, and they always produce great defensive linemen."

Purdue "I love the campus; it's set around the stadium."

Nebraska "They came to see me in May, and that meant a lot to me."
