McKinney to Visit Louisville

James McKinney has made numerous unofficial visits to the University of Louisville, but his scheduled visit in early September will be a little different than the others.

James McKinney of Louisville Central High School may not make an official visit to the hometown Cardinals program, but that won't stop the 6-foot-3, 275-pound defensive tackle/tight end prospect from seeing the Louisville football program upclose this fall.

McKinney will be a guest of U of L's when the Cardinals open the season at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium on September 5th against in-state rival Kentucky.

"I wouldn't miss that game for the world," McKinney told Inside the Ville.

While he declined to say which team he'll be cheering for in the Battle in the Bluegrass, he will have connections with a freshman member of the Cardinals in cousin Steve McKinney, who chose to attend Louisville following his final season at Male last year.

McKinney has made a number of unofficial visits to Louisville over the past few months, attending spring practice sessions, as well as just stopping by the football complex to visit with coaches.

He currently has one official visit scheduled to Nebraska and will likely also schedule a trip to Michigan.

McKinney is currently practicing with Central in preparation for his senior season and will don the pads for the first time on Monday.
