Steven Black Visits Louisville

Wide receiver/defensive back prospect Steven Black of Vestavia Hills (AL) High School made an unofficial visit to Louisville this past weekend and spoke with Inside the Ville following his return home.

Steven Black of Vestavia Hills High School made the four and a half hour drive from his home in Birmingham, Alabama this weekend to make an unofficial visit to the University of Louisville.

When ITV last spoke with Black in late June, he claimed the Cardinals as his leader. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound receiver with 4.45 speed received a scholarship offer from U of L prior to the end of the school year.

"It's still the same...Louisville is still my favorite," Black said on Sunday. "I also like Alabama, Clemson and Mississippi."

Having previously made an unofficial visit to Alabama , Black was able to compare the two programs following his trip to Louisville.

"I liked it a lot," Black said of U of L's campus and facilities. "I was surprised how nice it was. It was better than I thought it would be. The campus was nice and I really liked the locker room, the dorms and the weight room."

As for a comparison of the two programs?

"Louisville is the best I've ever seen," Black quickly responded.

Louisville assistant Joe Whitt Jr. provided Black with a tour of the Cardinals complex and Coach Bobby Petrino was able to spend some time chatting with the impressive athlete.

Black will likely make a return visit on September 5th for the Cardinals season opener against Kentucky.

Joining Steven on his trip to U of L was teammate Tyler Haynes, a 6-foot-4, 285-pound offensive lineman, who is also receiving interest from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and others.
