Football Reports Sunday; Practice On Monday

The 2004 Cardinal football season is about to get underway, as the players report on Sunday and have their first practice on Monday.

The second season of the Bobby Petrino era will be on Sunday, August 8, when the University of Louisville football team reports to campus to begin preparations for the 2004 campaign.

The incoming freshmen report to campus on Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. with the veterans scheduled to arrive at 5:45.

The first practice is slated for Monday afternoon. The freshmen will begin practice at 4:30 with the vets joining the rookies at 5:30.

Practices are open to the media and public from August 9-16, and will be completely closed from the 17th until after the Kentucky game.

Following the season opener, only the first half hour of practice will be open to the general public.


The 2004 U of L Fall Fan Fest will take place in Cardinal Park on Friday, Aug. 13. Admission is FREE! Cardinal sports teams and spirit squads will be on hand to sign autographs from 5:15 p.m.-7:30 p.m. The evening culminates with the Jenna Cooper Memorial Soccer Match as the Louisville Women's Soccer team takes on nationally-ranked Nebraska at 7:30 p.m.

U of L head football coach Bobby Petrino will perform the ceremonial kickoff prior to the match. The entire 2004 Cardinal football team will sign autograpgs from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Big East Fest

On August 24th, the University of Louisville will hold a Big East Fest at 4th Street Live. Bobby Petrino, Rick Pitino and Tom Jurich will be on hand. Stay tuned to ITV for further details.
