While his older brother, Mario Urrutia, will report to U of L on Sunday afternoon as apart of the 2004 incoming freshman class, Maurice says that having his brother on Louisville's squad won't effect his decision much.
"It doens't really matter," said the 6-foot-4, 180-pound senior at Fern Creek High School.
Urrutia wants to wait to see how strong of a senior season he has before making a college decision, pointing out that some more high Division I scholarship offers may come his way.
Currently, he is receiving frequent interest from Marshall, Tennessee, Louisville, Miami of Ohio, Kentucky and a host of others, but the Cardinals are still the only program to extend a scholarhip offer.
"They are my leaders right now," Urrutia said of Louisville.
While most realize that Urrutia is a sure-handed receiver, most haven't discovered his abilities on the defensive side of the ball as well.
"I play safety on defense," Urrutia explained. "I really like to hit and wouldn't mind playing there in college."
Following their recent team work at a camp at Western Kentucky University, Fern Creek contines on with two-a-days in preperation for thier season opener against Waggener on August 20th.
