While the 6-foot-3, 240-pound linebacker had a busy spring and summer with recruiting, he admits that he has allowed things to slow down lately as his senior season kicked off.
"Everything has settled down right now," said Clinton. "I want to wait for awhile and take my visits before making a decision."
Clinton, who also starts at tight end for Evangel Christian, opened his senior campaign in impresive fashion, recording 11 tackles, including 4 for a loss and 2 forced fumbles. As a junior he totaled 110 tackles, 7 sacks and two interceptions.
"We have a really tough schedule this year, so I want to stay focused," continued Clinton. "I will need to play my best each week out."
With two visits set for his current top choices, Georgia Tech and Maryland, a host of other programs are jockeying for position to grab a place on his schedule.
"I'm definately visiting Maryland and Georgia Tech," Clinton said. "I'll probably visit South Carolina and Alabama too. I'm not sure where I'll go with my fifth visit, maybe Louisville or Iowa State."
If the U of L coaching staff can secure an official visit from Clinton, the Cardinals odds will highly improve.
