Moody, Rhodes named C-USA Players of the Week

Sophomore punter Brent Moody and senior safety Kerry Rhodes were named C-USA Player of the Week following their performance last Sunday against in-state rival Kentucky

Senior safety Kerry Rhodes and sophomore punter Brent Moody were named the Conference USA Players of the Week on Tuesday.

Rhodes, who was tabbed the defensive player of the week, recorded a pair of interceptions, returning one 56 yards for a touchdown. He also picked off a pass right before the end of the first half. The Bessemer, Ala., product recorded seven tackles as the Cardinal defense recorded their first shutout since 2000.

Moody was named the special teams Player of the Week, averaging a career-best 51.0 yards per kick, including a 55-yarder, which tied his career-best.
